BULLETPROOF Proves to have Americana Appeal

Nashville, TN – June 5, 2009 – The Americana Music Association announced their 2009 nominees for Honors and Awards ceremony, and Texas-roots rockers Reckless Kelly acquired a nomination—their first ever in from the AMA – in the Duo or Group of the Year category. Voting for the awards ends June 12, 2009.

Reckless Kelly celebrated success in the format with a No. 1 Americana song and a No. 1 Texas Charts song from their 2008 releaseBULLETPROOF (Yep Roc Records), with “Ragged As The Road.” Previous awards for the band include an honorable mention to Willy Braun in the International Songwriter’s Award for “American Blood.” Reckless Kelly landed a Country Band of the Year award from the “Austin Music Awards” in 2008.

BULLETPROOF debuted at #22 on the Billboard Country Music Charts and No. 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

Reckless Kelly consists of Willy Braun, lead vocalist, on acoustic and electric guitars, percussion; Cody Braun on fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, harmony vocals; David Abeyta on lead electric and acoustic guitars, lap steel, percussion; Jay Nazz on drums, percussion; and Chris Schleke on bass.

The awards ceremony will take place at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on September 17th.
